I have had severe stomach problems for three going on four years now i have several amoung several tests done and since they never found anything the doctor said they think that its IBS since that's the only answer left... well i have been taking the pill align everyday when i wake up and if my stomach gets bad i take another whenever it gets that way. Well i usually eat a bowl of cereal when i wake up and go about my day because if i lay down right away that upsets my stomach. I will usually eat a snack or something an hour or two later before work and then a snack at work first break then a sandwich and fries on second break. i try to eat the same foods that dont upset my stomach. but some days my stomach will start bothering me my stool will get softer and softer each day then after two days ill get severe stomach pains and have bad dirreah. i dont get why. it comes from no where and happens like this often ill be fine for a few days but my passing of stool is hardly ever normal... its usually either soft a lot of the time or hard but little bits at a time but i will have to go a lot. And when i get the dirreah its bad ill feel sick to my stomach in a lot of stomach pain and it will last a couple hours and i dont get why because i try to eat what i know wont upset my stomach or avoid doing what i know will upset it such as eating then layind down. im really getting tired of this because i fear
going anywhere with friends eating out or having anyone else drive somewhere because it will just come suddenly and i thought this pill would work and im tired of having to keep trying different pills. i can't gain weight either i have been the same size for a long time and feel as if sometimes im losing more weight. i am concerned and maybe thinking there is more to this than just IBS unless im just not taking the right type of medicine to control it. i wanna be able to eat normally and not worry about this happening to me or going out and not being afraid of what will happen. any ideas?
My bother had the same problems for many years. As it turned out, it was his body's way of reacting to stress. His doc started him on an antidpressant and... no more stomach pain, cramps, diarrhea and alternating constipation. Something worth considering anyway.
