Sounds like some indigestion too to me. Where is the burning sensation, up in your chest or right above your stomach/belly button area? If you are getting bile up in your throat it could be reflux disease or one of those other reflux symptoms. I'm not a doctor so I really can't say, but if it's making you uncomfortable and you are feeling it high in your esophogus, you should probably touch base with a doctor to talk about it.

They may recommend a change in diet and then using over the counter acid reducers, like prilosec or nexium or xantac or pepcid.

First, find out which foods give you the worst problems. Beer, pizza, spicy foods, caffeine - these can trigger the acid in your tummy. Slow down on them or take antacids prior to eating/drinking them.

Some immediate tips: Don't eat 2 hours before laying down. Don't over eat. Eat slowly and chew thoroughly. If you are prone to having lots of acid in your stomach, remember to snack often, but small and healthy. If I go half a day with no foods or drinks, sometimes the acid increases and gives me heart burn. I've found munching a saltine or other cracker helps keep that in control.

Anyway, if you are concerned, the best bet is to always go to a healthcare professional for proper treatment.

good luck
