Unexplained colon pain

I have this problem for past 4-5 months. I have pain on lest side of my stomach and it is erratic. I suffer from this in morning and then it come of and on. I do have a sensitive stomach and have frequent colitis related problems. I tries all possible medicine for colitis but pain and tenderness contiues. Gastroenterologist finally advised me colonoscopy. I am not sure if really have to do this as there are no negative symptoms - appetite is good, bowl movement is ok, no weigth loss observed etc. Did any memebrs come across this sort of problem before? and what could be a possible cause.

Colitis is a term that means an inflammatory pattern is known to be in the colon, and the term is usually associated with forms of inflammatory bowel disease such as Crohn's colitis, ulcerative colitis, microscopic colitis or antibiotic-related colitis.
