Upset Diegestive system
my 10 day old grandson was put on an AR formula, 1 ml Zantac twice daily, .05mil of Mylanta in every bottle, half a teaspoon of probiotics once a day. He seemed to stop throwing up however, he screams day and night not just a scream but a heart renching histerical scream, we have taken him to the childrens hospital who decided a new mum didn't know what she was doing and all babies cry when she demanded to see another doctor they decided she was a nutter and got her a councellor she wanted to walk out but knew she had to sit there becuase they have power, she then took the baby to local doctor who said to take him back to the peadatrician, the peadatrician said to just give him prune juice, this little fella is now four weeks old, has not done a poo on his own always has to have prune juice or sugar and water, this little fella screams night and day until he konks from exhaustion and even then the pain wakes him. We took him to another peadtrician yesterday who said take him off everything except the Zantac, change him to a normal formula - Nan HA Gold, and continue with prune juice. Today he vomits everywhere after the Zantac, still has not done a poo and still sqirming and screaming. Is it possbale these health professionals are so use to just diagnosing the same reflux - colic - unsettled babies that they forget to look beyond this? Could this be quite serious or de we just continue to try and find someone that will check him out or accept it is normal?

Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  I think he needs to see a pediatric gastroenterologist ASAP.  These are not normal symptoms for a child and he could have something like hirschsprung's disease and he needs to be checked out soon.
