. He drank no alcohol for 2 years with no difference to the high Lipase levels. 10 months ago he went on a holiday, ate only asian food, once again drank alcohol and on return, the Lipase/Amylase tests were NORMAL. Now recent bloods have the Lipase again skyroceting to 3,200. Physically - still well. Original presentation was for upper abdo pain R side, nausea sweating that subsided in 2 days. Blood tests a week later reveald Lipase and Amylase way up and a diagnosis of Pancreatitis was made.
No recurrence since, but still high Lipase output. All tests and scans were unremarkable except for "fatty liver". Can anyone suggest where to go next? OR is hyperlipasemia normal??
I am wondering if you have gotten answers yet. I have had mildly elevated lipase for a few yrs with left sided pain and some bloating. I was dx by labs for chronic panc, but all my scans were clear. My dad died of pancreatic cancer so I am monitored by scans annually. I would suggest a CT or EUS for your husband.
