Why am I still bleeding after colonoscopy?

by Jan906, Nov 09, 2008 12:07AM
Dear Dr.  I had a colonoscopy two months ago at which time 2 polyps were removed and biopsied.
The biopsies came back good, and the doctor I was seeing said however she wanted me to have another
colonoscopy in a year due to the one polyp being large?

I have now moved (my husband and I have separated) and I live several hundred miles from the doctor
that did my colonoscopy.

My question is this:  I still have some bleeding in my stool.  Once in awhile, I have gas pains or pains
in my stomach, which are not severe, but very uncomfortable, even causing pain in my lower back.
Why would I still be bleeding?  Could it be my diet?  I am trying to be careful of what I eat, as to not
irritate my colon anymore.
Please tell me what I can do to stop the bleeding.  Sometimes it is medium to light, other times its is
a little heavier.

Thank you for your help.   Jan
