my husband has blood in stool and he says it hurts when he pees.also he gets very violent moods and passes out sometimes gets disoriented.he is a heavy drinker for last 36 years and drinks a 12pk a day. he has already lost 10lbs. is he in a stage of cirrhosis of the liver?

In addition to your/your husband's existing challenges, you must try and persuade him to seek medical advice for rectal bleeding which is never normal.

For possible causes google rectal bleeding and click on to one of the many sites - the Medicinenet site is particularly informative.

You don't state his age, but from the period of his drinking, I would guess he will be aged 50+.  This is the age when colon cancer can become active.  Now I am not in any way suggesting that this is what has developed in his body but you may - or may not - decide to introduce this possibility as a relevant factor in persuading him to seek medical advice.
