pain is seldom present unless I eat an excess of spices.
I'm also a smoker of years, but very recently, it seems to be aggravating the condition, so I've cut back as smoking has recently triggered vomitting, strong cramps, and a sweat. I'm aware that this could be completely uncorrelated. I've also limited to my drinking to rare occasions, but it seems to have no effect on blood presence.
I am young and have been healthy my entire life. I have a normal weight, low blood pressure, and am female. I also have a high fiber diet. When I was younger, I was bulimic and abused laxatives for a period of a year or so, but I never experience lasting problems thereafter unless you consider now, half a decade later.
Everything might be okay, but I don't want to ignore warning signs that could lead to more serious problems later on. Any suggestions of what may be happening?
Rectal bleeding is never normal and you should seek medical advice. You are probably too young to have the more sinister causes of rectal bleeding. Type in rectal bleeding to google/yahoo etc to find out more.
A colonoscopy is the most comprehensive test - it may be worth trying to scrape up the funds in order to gain benefit from the reassurance that it will hopefully provide.
