Hello -
My husband (34, 185 lbs, active, otherwise healthy) has been suffering with constant, dull pain in his upper right abdomen (under right ribRib cage pain) for several years. He describes the pain as feeling "crowded" and "air bubbles". He finally saw a GI specialist and had an ultrasound; they found 1 smallish polyp and a gallstoneAcute cholecystitis (gallstones) Gallstones Gallstones, cholangiogram Kidney cyst with gallstones, ct scan. They said that his gallbladder function, liver, pancreas and everything else looked good. They recommended that he get his gallbladder removed even though the function was fine and his pain doesn't correspond with typical gallbladder pain (no attacks). The same doctor also recommended he go under for a stomach scope to look for ulcers, which really doesn't correspond with his symptoms. Anyway, he was frustrated and hasn't been back to the doctor or found a second opinion yet. He's getting to the point where he's going to have the gallbladder removed, but I worry that it won't resolve the pain - and why get it removed if it's still functioning properly? Anyone have any ideas other than see another specialist? Thanks very much!
My wife had gallbladder issues. They said her constantly running to the bathroom and have horrible attacks would get better with it out. They said it was like a 50 year old womansWomen's way gallbladder and full of stones. Her pain quit but the bathroom issues are still there. I don't think it would hurt him if it was removed just eliminate the pain. not sure though. I think the best bet is to find a gastroenterologist and dig deeper. These days doctors seem to rush things around and aren't thourogh make them earn there money. Hope this helps.
