constant salivating and queasy stomach

by curious0, Nov 03, 2008 12:24PM
This has been affecting me for at least about 5 years now, but lately has been happening more and more frequently. I will be sleeping and wake randomly. When I wake up my mouth is salivating to the point that within seconds my whole mouth is full of spit, im talking bulging cheeks not just normal dont talk with a full mouth of food full, and have to swallow or spit it out if I make it to the bathroom in time. At the same time my stomach has this odd feeling like I am going to throw up but I don't. It used to happen at the very most once a month roughly and I didn't really pay it any mind since I would just go back to sleep about 15min later when it was done. Recently, about 2-3 months about, it started to happen a bit more frequently about 1-2 times a week, and is now starting to effect my sleep. I currently am without any insurance so can't afford to go see a doctor regarding this so was hoping to get some sort of advice on what this could be here, and wether its just one of those annoying but normal things thats not a big deal, or if this could be indictive of something else.

I just experienced this exact same thing for the first time. It started the night before last...and again last night tonight! I just woke up from this actually. Which is why I am up at 4:00 a.m. doing web research to find out what is going on! It happened to me just as you described. The first night, I woke up quite a few times before I realized something was really wrong. Then, I decided that excessive salivation is a sign that I'm going to vomit; so I went to the bathroom and leaned over the toilet until something came up. Nothing much...but I assumed it was some sort of food poisoning I'd gotten from trying Elote Loco - Mexican corn on a stick - for the first time. I had to work the following day so I took periodic doses of Pepto Bismo to get me through. I thought it was done until it woke me up again tonight.
