I have had diarrhea on and off for many years, i am 30 years old, i have been going Drs who has only given me medication to stop the diarrhea and peppermint oil for the cramps i get, again it is on and off i also do get brightBright beginnings blood in my stools, one sided on and off i believe its due the hemorrhoid problems i have as they do cause pain too. Dr has also prescribed cream which helps but they come back. I have noticed alot that worrying and thinking makes it worse.
The burning/pain in the upper right/middle abdomen, eases down after drinking milkBreast milk Breast milk jaundice Lactose intolerance Nipple discharge - abnormal,or taking antiacid, did speak to Dr about this gave me omeprazoleOmeprazole Omeprazole-sodium bicarbonate when ever i feel the pain only, also he advised he wants a deeper look into my liver as my LFT results were abnormal for the last few tests over the years (first time i heard about this, he did advise this could have been due to being on antibiotics, drinking, alt raised 82 few months ago, results came back as alt 65 few weeks ago and i am waiting for my results which should be back tomorrow to see if its lowered further, Dr doesnt seem to be too worried about this anymore). I have also got a ultrasound appointment of the abdomen on tuesday in a few days.
if anyone could shed some light on this, is it simply irritable bowls as i know anti-biotics make it bad even though i had them a few months back? as my stools have been pale on and off for a while now could it be somthing else?
Have you tried PROBIOTICS to correct the imbalance caused by the antibiotics? This is very important. I had a test done on my son (ordered by my nutritionist) which showed he had specific probiotic deficiencies - mostly bifidum species but a couple of lactobacillus or acidophilus species also. A compounding pharmacy made a customized blend of the missing probiotics, with a dosing count of 400 billion CFU! (most over-the-counter probiotics are around 2 billion or less). I believe it's the bifidum species that reside in the large intestine, and lactobacillus like to hang out in the small intestine.
Anyway, the probiotics helped my son A LOT. These, and digestive enzyme supplements with every meal returned his bowels to "normal". It's not an overnight cure. It can take a long time to control "bad" bacteria by overpowering it with "good" bacteria, but it is vital to have the right balance to prevent disease. I am in the U.S. so I don't know what's available to you locally, but I believe there are some good probiotics sold by labs over the internet. You need something with at least 20 billion CFU (colony forming units).
If you have been on antibiotics, even for a short time, you need to rebuild your good bacteria colonies to have a healthy gut environment. Of course, you may have other significant problems going on, but the probiotics are vitally important. I would stay away from all pasteurized dairy products also.
