diverticulosis issue

my son's grandmother has Diverticulosis.  Supposedly, my son hit "punched" his grandmother in the stomach.  Would a hit in the stomach cause her to have problems?  She supposedly is needing surgery now and is blaming my son. My son is only 5.

Getting hit in the stomach would do absolutely nothing if a person has diverticulosis and that diverticulosis is in the 'usual' place - the sigmoid colon.

The surgery that is needed for diverticulosis is due to the fact that the pockets have become infected and the infection can't be controlled with antibiotics, or a pocket is about to rupture into the abdominal cavity and cause problems.
