liver septated hepatic cyst

I recently had an ulyra sound and ct with and without contrast results showed 3.0x2.5 cm.septated cyst near the junction of the left and right lobe of the liver , i have been sufferring with sometimes unbearable abdominal pains mostly on the right side but at times seems to radiate across the entire upper abdominal area seems even worse when I eat, my question is should I just go to the ER my doctor refered me to a GI and of course That appointment is not until next weds , I am not sure I can stand this much longer and what exactly is this cyst, my doctor did not explain and I would like to know if a cyst can really cause all this pain. Help someone....please
