stomach cramps and diarrhea

Hi i have some stomach pain lasting a week now and have had diarrhea. i was wondering if anyone knows whether it is ok to take levofloxacin with losec?

I would contact your doctor before taking these two medications together. If I understand correctly, Losec is a proton pump inhibitor which, especially if used long-term, can make a person more susceptible to getting Clostridium Difficile ("C.Diff.") bacterial infection. Taking antibiotics (such as levofloxacin) also make a person susceptible to getting C.Diff.

If you're having stomach pain and diarrhea, call your doctor and say you'd like to bring in a stool specimen to be checked for bacterial infections such as C.Diff. if you have not already done so. Good luck,
