Aortic root , arch, and valve replacement

My husband has to have heart surgery to replace the valve, root, and arch.  He has been putting it off and I am concerned because he has had problems for 2 years, which have been treated as allergies.  Doctors say he is in heart failure already but he feels he has time to find the right surgeon.  How do you go about doing this?  We live near Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, and we need to have a surgeon who has experience with this particular problem.  One surgeon said that he has done 50 of them in seven years.  Is that a lot?  Should We go to a big city to have this done instead?  How many does the Cleveland Clinic do per year?

If he is already in heart failure the surgery needs to be done soon.  I'm not sure what the number of aortic valve replacements done here but the yearly total heart surgeries is over 4500. I would recommend Dr. Lytle here but all of the surgeons here are excellent if he is not available.  He can make an appointment by calling 1-800-CCF-CARE and ask see one of the F-15 cardiologists or his doctor can call the surgical scheduling office directly at (216) 444-2113.  Don't delay on getting this fixed.
