Changing of BP Medicine

Changing of BP Medicine

Posted By Tim W on May 28, 1999 at 11:56:03
Doctor:
I was on Adalat 30mg for BP reduction and it was increased to 60mg by my doctor.  After about  5 or 6 days on this medicine, I had a rapid heart rate and palpitations every minute or so.
They noted my tripoin level high on the first blood test but was normal on the others every 3 hours.   They ran EKG and echo tests and they reported fine.  My doctor took me off Adalatt and put me on Ziac.  Well my BP and heartrate are down , but I am still experiencing palpitations every couple of minutes and this has been going on for about 5 days now.  I am due for a stress test ( cardiolite ) in a few days.  My question is: Will these palpiations quit when the old medicine is out of my system, or is this something I will have to deal with.  They scare me since I have never had them until this incident.  I am 29 years old.
Thanks for the wonderful service you offer.
