High blood pressure is a common cause of headache. However, pain can also cause high blood pressure. The fact that you had a normal MRI is reassuring that there is nothing dangerous causing the headache, such as a tumor or stroke. The first step would be to take the BP medicine on a regular basis and see if the headaches resolve. If they do, then high blood pressure is likely the cause of the headaches. If they don't get better, then you may have primary headaches (like migraine or tension headache) or there may be another cause. Start with the BP meds, and if that doesn't work, see your primary care doctor or a neurologist.
