Methyldopa & water pills

I was wondering if I can take a water pill while taking Methyldopa? I changed my blood pressure medication from Dyazide to Methyldopa a few days ago due to trying to conceive and noticed a huge difference with water retention. I couldn't even wear my wedding ring today and my shoes were extremely tight.

I wanted to know if this is okay to do.

Thanks.

It probably is.  You should however, contact the physician who ordered the med to give you an OK on it.  You could also cut down on your fluid intake, because this is most likely the reason why you developed swelling.  When you first started the diuretic, you probably increased you fluid intake slightly, now that you are off it and your fluid intake probably hasn't changed much you developed lower extremity swelling.
