More frequent Tachycardia

More frequent Tachycardia

  I've had SVT's for 15 years (now aged 30).
Up to December 1998 they occurred around 5-7 times per year.
Between 1 Jan 99 and today I've had 14, 5 of which were while I had a flu virus.
No stress or other such factors are involved here.
Can you offer explanations as to why they are becoming so much more frequent.
Usual beat rate of 205 during attack
  Thanks
  Tony

Dear Tony,
Thank you for your question.   Nearly any type of stress including illness can increase SVT.  It may be possible to have better control of your condition through either medication or ablation therapy. I would recommend seeing an electrophysiologist for evaluation.
