Need a Congestive Heart Failure Specialist

by Anitra, Aug 14, 1999 12:00AM
My father has a very rare and extensive history of heart attacks, strokes, congestive heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.  About three years ago he had a defribbilator implanted. We would like a second opinion on my father's condition.  He is only 52.  Do you have any specialist at the Cleveland Clinic who could help in this area of heart disease?  Thank you in advance for responding.

We have a special center - The Kaufman center for congestive heart failure - that specializes in these type of cases. All treatment options are available including heart transplant in some cases.  Last year we were the number one center for heart transplants.  If you would like your father to be seen here please call 1-800-CCF-CARE and ask to make an appointment with one of the heart failure specialists.  Be sure to bring copies of all his medical records.

I hope you find this information useful.  Information provided in the heart forum is for general purposes only.  Only your physician can provide specific diagnoses and therapies.  Please feel free to write back with additional questions.

If you would like to make an appointment at the Cleveland Clinic Heart Center, please call 1-800-CCF-CARE or inquire online by using the Heart Center website at www.ccf.org/heartcenter.  The Heart Center website contains a directory of the cardiology staff that can be used to select the physician best suited to address your cardiac problem.
