I am a 39 year old female diagnosed one year ago with RVOT-VT.
I would like to know the effects of alcohol on this condition.  The cause of my
arrythmia has not been isolated so I am on atenolol which has been very effective.
I have changed my diet to eliminat caffeine and alcohol on a regular basis but do sometimes have
a coffee or a beer or two.
I have had varying advise from two different cardiologist.  One said a few beer occassionaly
would not harm me.  The other said more than one drink could be dangerous.  If alcohol is not the
cause of my arrythmia will 2 or 3 beer affect my heart adversely, especially when I
am taking my atenolol?

Dear A. traverse
I would advise avoiding both caffeine and alcohol.
I hope this has been useful. I wish you the best of luck. Feel free to write back.
