I am 31 and had spontaneous coronary artery dissection 11 days after the birth of my son.  I had never had heart trouble before.  This is the first case like mine that my doctor has seen.  He really doesn't have any info on it.  He put 5 stents in my right coronary artery.  Would there be a doctor at the Cleveland Clinic that has experience with this?  If so I would love to see them.  Please write me with a qualified doctors name.  Thanks
Dear Melissa
You could call the number below for an appointment with either Dr. Whitlow or Dr. Ellis. Both have seen your condition before. While unusual, spontaneous coronary artery dissections do occur - many are associated with the period immediately after birth. High blood pressure can be a contributing factor. Certain connective tissue diseases can also predispose to coronary artery dissection.
I hope this information is useful. Information provided in the heart forum is for general purposes only.  Only your physician can provided specific diagnoses and therapies.  Feel free to write back with further questions. Good luck!
If you would like to make an appointment at the Cleveland Clinic Heart Center, please call 1-800-CCF-CARE or inquire online by using the Heart Center website at www.ccf.org/heartcenter.   The Heart Center website contains a directory of the cardiology staff that can be used to select the physician best suited to address your cardiac problem.
