I am a white male at the age of 24 years old. I was born with VSD and it has been getting smaller as I get older, but has not closed as of yet. I was born 4.4 oz, and I am now 5'4 and weigh 150lbs. For the past few years, and really just recently, I have been lifting weights pretty hard to gain muscle size. I have also been taking a bodybuilding supplement called
creatine and
androAndro la 200, but I have stopped taking the
androAndro la 200. My last echo should that at the VSD is still closing, but my pulmonary valve was dialated some.
I have been reading lately on the internet that VSD patients really should not do any heavy weight lifting? Is that true? Is it ok for VSD patients to continue a LIGHT weight lifting program to keep muscle tone/strength? I know when I exercise, I feel better when I don't. I know I really need to work on my cardio-fitness because it is lacking very much.
Thank you very much for your time.
