Dear Kind Dr.
I was seen at the er the other day due to a severe panic attack. Had a ECG done and the results read as this. Sinus tachycardia, left atrial enlargement and Borderline ecg. I understand the sinus tachycardia but don't know what left atrial enlargement means. Is this normal? The Drs have not seemed concerned. I am 36 years old in otherwise good health. Thanks for being here.

Julie,
If you scroll down on this site you can read my situation. I read yours and it sounded alot like what I'm experiencing. Do you also get chest pains when you have panic attacks? I have been to the E.R many times for both arrythmias and chest pains but the doctors always say it's just panic.I was driving to work the other day and my heart just took off on me. It was the worst case of tachacardia I've experienced. I did not feel like I was under any stress at the time but who knows. Anyway, I drove straight to the E.R and EKG was normal by the time I arrived. Do you have any thoughts re my situation? Just wanted to let you know you're not alone. Hope you are well. You may reply to my E-Mail address if you have anything to share.
