Severe stenosis, how safe am I with .5 opening for much longer?

I have a bicuspid aortic valve that is now down to .5.  I recently arrived in Canada, and have started the necessary procedure to have an operation. At the moment I am on waiting lists for tests, and haven't even talked to the prospective surgeon as yet. I'm a little concerned that the tests are taking so long, and then wondering how long I will have to wait for the operation after that. I have a lot of symptoms and am quite concerned for my condition. I was just wondering if anybody had any input on how small an opening one can have and still keep going, and how dangerous my condition is at the moment? I will be having an echocardiogram tomorrow, and on June 21st an angiogram so things are moving along, although very slowly . Should I be concerned, or just be patient?

About 50% of patient with this condition pass away in a period of 2 years.  So this is a very serious condition with a serious mortality risk and surgery should not be post poned much longer.  I would say that it should happen within the next couple of months.
