Supraventricular tachycardia

Posted By Kim on December 13, 1998 at 14:43:30:

I am 39 year old, female, diagnosed with SVT in August 1998.  The physician gave me Digoxin, but said I wouldn't have to take it unless the SVT became a problem.  I have not took any to date.  Recently I had a short episode that I was able to stop.  Since that time I've had several episodes of SVT lasting only a few seconds.  Do you think the Dig would be helpful.  My resting heart rate is usually between 60-72 and I know Dig will slow the heart rate down, but since my restint HR is fairly low, do you think the Dig would be harmful.  Also, is there anything to help the bothersome premature beats.  The physician said I had Supraventricular Extrasystole also, and it's about at aggrevating at the SVT.
Thanks
