decision on surgeries

I have a 19 mo. old son with Interrupted Aortic Arch, VSD and Subaortic Stenosis. His IAA has been repaired with conduit and the VSD patched. His stenosis has been resected twice with a valvotomy done the last time. His aortic annulus is small and is not growing so we are looking at either the Ross-Konno or the Damus Kaye Stansel. Could you please give me a little information on these surgeries to compare? Which is the riskiest, and survival rates. And also on the longevity of the surgeries?
Thank You,
Calisha

Dear Calisha,

Each of these surgeries is considered high risk as with any cardiac surgery.  Alot would depend on the center at which youare having these  so as to interpret results.  It is best to discuss these with your individual surgeon and what their experience has been.

I hope this has been useful. I wish you the best of luck. Feel free to write back.
