left side chest pain

my wife gets shooting pain in her left side above her brest that runs down into her left arm. says the pain is an 8. she also said it feels like needles in her elbow and arm feels numb. it comes and goes and last about 1 min or longer.

If your wife is still having this pain, I would recommend that she be evaluated by her primary care physician or a cardiologist.  Her symptoms do not sound typical for chest pain related to the heart, however sometimes women can present with atypical symptoms.   It could be a muscle strain also but the only way to know for sure would be to be evaluated by a doctor.
