minimally invasive valve replacement

minimally invasive valve replacement

  Hi.
Do you feel that the minimally invasive valve replacement procedure should not be used or is not preferrable on the aortic valve?  I had heard this on a television special and was curious as to your opinion. Has the minimally invasive aortic valve replacement ever been performed at the Cleveland Clinic and what is their track record with this particular procedure? (bicuspid aortic valve replacement).  Thank you for your time and consideration.
  Leesa
Dear Leesa
We have performed the minimally invasive surgery for the aortic valve successfully. What was the television special and what did they say (and who said it)?
Perhaps the issue was of aortic valve repair, as opposed to surgery. This is usually not a good idea for aortic stenosis.
I hope this is useful. Feel free to write back with further questions. Good luck.
