very hot and very cold symtoms(symptoms) after a heart valve replacement

my dad had a heart valve replace in march 2011, he suffered several mini strokes on his left side of his brain which went undetected for 3 to 4 days.  needless to say it has been a crazy roller-coster ride since.  he has developed a rash and is suffering very hot and extreme cold symtoms (symptoms).  no one doctor or dermatologist can figure it out at all.  my dad's nose has been running continuously non-stop as well.  can u please help me figure this out to make him more comfortable.
