gastroscopy question

hello,

today i had a gastroscopy done to check for varices.there were no varices and im happy about this.

but is it possible that i cant remember anything?
he gave me a spray in my throat and an injecton and said i wil sleep soon.
as i woke up it was already finish.
but ive thought i have to swallow the hose,but i cant remember this also.
what are your experiences with that?

I had mine done a few months ago and I did not remember anything either.   I believe they call it "Twilight Sleep" that they put you under...They placed the plastic piece in my mouth and next memory was waking up in recovery.  Simple and painless. :-)  Congrats on the results!  Great news!

I had a scope and balloon dilation of my esophagus a few weeks ago.  I remember NOTHING.  I prefer it that way.  ;)

My husband awoke from his procedure wondering when they were going to start :).  Once they give you the medication, you don't remember much of anything, but that's nothing to worry about.  Especially great that you don't have to worry about varices.  Best wishes. ~eureka

Susie is correct. The meds you had keep you from remembering anything.
Good that they didn't find any varices. Varices are a complication of stage 4, cirrhosis.

The anest hsia they use makes you not remember anything. This is normal.
