What are the stages of cirrhosis?

I recently found out that my husband has cirrhosis of the liver.  He had been diagnosed with Hep C but was unable to take interferon treatments because his liver was tested and there were signs of cirrhosis already in his liver.  
There seems to be stages that these diseases have.  I have been unable to locate any information on the stages of liver disease though.  If you have any resourses I can refer to for this information i would appreciate it, or if you could answer this question I would be grateful.
