Boyfriend has herpes - has he cheated?

My boyfriend has an outbreak of genital herpes. We have been together for 3 years and he swears he hasnt cheated at all. This is his first outbreak of it but he says he slept with someone about 5 years ago and finished with her when she told him she had had genital herpes in the past. Can he have caught the virus from her and can it lay dormant for this long without an outbreak?

yes that is possibile you may have herpes and never have symptoms they call them lucky ones foget about the cheating test for yourself to rule out if you are infected too.
