on me one time and swallowed my ***. She just told me that she tested positive for HSV 2, and had negative results when she tested earlier this year. So she thinks its from me. She has had one other partner, but swears that he is not to blame. She hasn't had any symptoms yet, nor have I (nothing obvious). What are the chances that it was my fault? She said she could have a false positive, and if so, what would cause a false positive? She was told by her MD that the only thing they could do to confirm it now was to get a swab test if she has an outbreak. I know it was a specific type HSV 2 blood test, but not sure which one she took.
It's not likely that she contracted hsv2 orally from you and it's showing up on the blood test. At this point your responsiblity in this is to get yourself a type specific herpes igg blood test to see what your own status is.
As for this gal - her other partner will need to get himself a type specific herpes igg blood test too - they shouldn't assume anything. Also she'll need to follow up on her own blood test results to see if it's likely she had a false positive or not and what further testing she needs done.
