Herpes?

by jasa7, Aug 29, 2008 08:08PM
I have recently been seeing blood when I wipe after a bowel movement.  There is not much, just a 1-2 thin line and there is no blood in my bowels.  I thought I had an anal fissure and, even though horribly embarrassing, told my gyno about it.  She discovered that i do have a fissue from my vagina to my perineal.  This is where the blood is coming from when i wipe.  There is also redness between my buttcheeks close to my rectum.  There are no warts, bumps, or anything of that nature, but I do have occasional itching.  I did recently have anal sex.  My doc looked under the microscope for yeast, but saw no presence of them.  She then decided to test me for herpes, which really scares me.  I asked her about 50 times if it looked like herpes; she responded that while it doesn't necessarily look like herpes, herpes does cause fissues.  I have been with the same person for three years and he does not have herpes that he knows of. Is it possible that the fissures and redness could be from rough sex? Or should I really be concerned that I have herpes? I have to wait a week for my test results and have gotten both myself and my boyfriend so worried and stressed over this. I'm hoping it's nothing but the fact that she tested me makes me think that she might think it's herpes...which makes me think that it somehow could be. Please help!

How did you possibly have time during a routine office visit to ask your doctor 50 times about herpes?! My office visits to the ObG are about 15 minutes. Were you just asking non-stop? That must have bugged the **** out of her. : /

Have you ever been tested in the past for herpes? Maybe you've been infected for a while and just don't know it. On the other hand, this could just be from having anal sex. Who knows? Just wait for the test results to come back.
