Question about recent HSV IGM I II Combination Test

by RecentlyAwakened, Nov 08, 2009 02:42PM
I have read all the posts that state how worthless the IGM test truly is but I was hoping to get some quick clarification since I wasnt told anything about this before getting tested last week.

My Results came back as a .84. I was terrified at first but then realized the <.91 means that I tested negative for the virus. Please confirm that I am reading this write and that I am truly negative for HSV.

Since IGM tests are said to be worthless, but I clearly passed this one, would there be any reason for me to go get tested for type I & II separately?

Actual Results

HSV, IGM I/II Combination  (Result .84)  Reference Interval 0.00 - 0.91

Negative 1.09

PLease help and put my mind at ease.

what caused you to want to get tested for herpes in the first place?

have you ever been tested for herpes before?
