asymptomatic herpes

Hi, a little bit about myself before I ask my question...
I'm a 22 yr old, straight male and am currently seeing a girl and have been doing so for about a month now and we've been having unprotected sex almost the entire time. Just recently (about 4 days ago) I noticed that ulcers were developing on my penis, but not in groups or clusters, just random ones in different areas. I'm really scared that it's herpes, but I'm even more scared that I gave it to my girlfriend (if she didn't give it to me). The last time I had unprotected sex was about 5 months ago (back in June). Is it likely that I contracted herpes from the last girl and have had no symptoms until now?

The only way to know is be seen and tested. You should get to the doc Monday, as time is of the essence with a herpes swab/culture. Otherwise, get an IgG type specific blood test. Your partner at this point can only watch for symptoms that would come on in 2-20 days typically. And, she should be tested herself... Best for sexual partners to know their herpes status. For now, I'd suggest using condoms until you know what's what...
