grace, any idea about the igG value for hsv2 is high, is it increasing as i just completed three months post exposure.
do i have to wait for some more months ?
i agree from the insertive oral sex exposure, i cannot get hsv2.
i have had 7 times unprotected sex with a woman 1 year ago. my last exposure with her was feb 2010. i never had any symptoms.
but she had couple of boyfriends and got divorced after marriage.
i dont even know there was an infection called herpes, when i was in relationship with her.
but this insertive oral sex with the CSW gave me lot of troubles, i would under what would be the reason for the pressure in the adbomen, pelvic pain, tingling in the penis head.
all the symptoms within couple of weeks. so bit concerned and want to rule out the herpes.
when i checked with the lab about the test kit, they used. they didnt use herpeselect kit.
they used Elisa kit of Euro Immune Diagnostics.
so now the test is also not accurate now.
i have called quest india and they said they are not doing the test using herpeselect kit.
but they do outsourcing.
so i'm waiting for the appointment with them. also searching a center in india who does
hsv 1 and 2 igG antibodies using herpeselect igG assay kit.
your hsv2 is negative. no real reason to think you have genital herpes at this point.
any further symptoms, be seen promptly for further work up.
so grace, have i done herpeselect test ?
and am i negative for hsv2 ?
am i also going to ask the technicians what antigen test kit they used to perform the test.
i googled a bit about igG and herpeselect. please correct me, if i'm wrong.
herpeselect - is patented technology by focus technologies - they provide antigen test kit to perform the test.
HerpeSelect® HSV antibody test kits.
the herpeselect is an igg test .
even the best blood tests still miss 1out of every 10 hsv1 infections. you can be seen the next time you have a lip blister for a lesion culture and typing to confirm that indeed what you think is oral herpes, really is.
i guess, the test i have done is igG testing and it is not herpeselect.
can you please let me know the difference between herpeselect and igG testing.
You've had a history of mouth sores in the past. Not sure from your description if it's hsv1 orally going on or not but if you had oral herpes as a boy, you still have it and you can still have recurrences of it even if it's been awhile. These are not new mouth symptoms for you so really no reason to worry about them.
Nothing you've mentioned sounds like genital herpes going on. Hsv1 is the biggest herpes risk from receiving oral sex and if you already have that orally, it's incredibly unlikely that you'd contract it genitally from oral sex later on.
have you ever been tested for herpes before to know your own status?
