hi grace
i got my test results.
Herpes Simplex Virus 1 igG --- 0.38
Herpes Simplex Virus 2 igG --- 0.74
I'm confused, how i got tested negative for HSV 1.
did my antibodies level dropped for hsv1, :(
hsv1 antibodies will not let the hsv2 antibodies detect. :(
dont know what to do. :(
i recently got two sores in the lower lips and it got healed. i missed it. but that time, i had folliculitis going on my stomach, right arm and thigh.
would that be the cause for the sores.
i thought of ending this doubt, now it leads to confusion.
I have no idea what herpes testing quest labs offer outside of the US. be sure to ask if you go there for testing. It should be the herpeselect since they own it.
yes grace, you are cheerful. never seen anyone of our age group. so lively.
keep rocking.
would you call this test as herpes type 1 and 2 igG antibodies as HerpeSelect.
oh and yeah I am kinda perky for 109 aren't I? he he he
I can't contact on tests outside of the US except for just general comments because I don't know which tests they are using. every test is different as well labs outside of the US often report differently than they do here in the US. the world is a very big place so I just keep up to date on the tests offered here in the US. Even just limiting myself to tests offered in the US isn't very easy. I am a volunteer so limiting what I do is the way I've chosen to handle things. I'd feel awful if I gave someone outside of the US erroneous advice.
I'm glad that i have found quest diagnostics lab in India. :)

i will be contact them and enquire about the service.
You've had a history of mouth sores in the past. Not sure from your description if it's hsv1 orally going on or not but if you had oral herpes as a boy, you still have it and you can still have recurrences of it even if it's been awhile. These are not new mouth symptoms for you so really no reason to worry about them.
Nothing you've mentioned sounds like genital herpes going on. Hsv1 is the biggest herpes risk from receiving oral sex and if you already have that orally, it's incredibly unlikely that you'd contract it genitally from oral sex later on.
have you ever been tested for herpes before to know your own status?
