I was tested 2 times for hsv 1 and 2.  Both time hsv1. pos and hsv2 neg.  Test done 12 and 16 mos. after exposure. Test perforrmed herpesselect.  Question: at time of exposure no symptoms.  Year later terrible jock itch that won't go away.  Itchcy sensation all over gential area without any blister outbreaks.  I have a few questions.  They are:
1.  Was 16 mos enough time to get an accurrate result for both?
2.  Do you think this itch has anything to do with herpes?
3.  Do you have any idea what this itch might be?

jock itch is due to yeast/fungus.  Just because it doesn't seem to want to clear up and stay cleared up for you, no reason to suspect that that must mean that you have herpes.

You waited way long enough to test. no reason for continued testing for herpes.
