Liver

Ok so I am 32 and have been sick a lot for 6 months. I keep thinking I have "the flu". It is nothing for me to be very sick with muscle cramps, headache and belly pain for a week. I do this like once a month to the point I have to stay in bed. I finally went to ER and found I had a very high liver panel. All other blood work was just fine. Even a flu swab. They first said maybe Hep. I was previously a paramedic and freaked over the thought. The tests then came back negative for Hep. I was told to follow up with a doc ASAP. I did and we discussed fatty liver or liver cancer. Had ultrasound and it is negative. So back to the drawing board. I was told that I may take too many pain relief aids. Well I take about 2 advil every few days. I would not think that would damage my liver? So I had another panel done and it is still very high a month later? Know what? I have previously had a positive ANA so I keep worrying that I may have lupus and this may be another problem to do with that? My toe nails have fell off over and over for a year with no fungal infections. Does anyone have any ideas. They are taking there time and making me very nervous

I do not know what is worst, all the tests or the lack of answers. Has your doctor ruled out cirrhosis or any other kind of liver disease?
I do not want to make you more nervous, but ultrasound scans are not the best imaging tests for liver cancer.
I can relate to you, since I am currently in anxiety hell, as I will have to wait for at least another 3 months to get  a new MRI scan to see if I have got  a  liver tumour or not.

Anyway, avoid booze, unnecessary meds, especially pain medication, and eat a healthy diet.
Has your doctor saind anything about a liver biopsy?
Did you go see a liver specialist? Not all doctors, even GIs,  have the necessary training to deal with liver problems.

Good luck!
