Nonalcoholic Liver Disease( NASH)

Dr. Dietrich,
Please tell me the necessary procedures that should be done for stage 4, grade 4 liver disease.  Please tell me how often the tests should be done too.
My dr. was advising me to have a colonoscopy and endoscopy once a year.
Is it really necessary to have banding done if the varices are a grade 2 out of the range from 1-4?
Is it necessary to have blood work done every 3 months?
Isn't there always going to be banding in the esophagus and stomach, since there are so many veins?
What can be done to help reduce the amount of varices to be banded?
How should I perceive banding.?
Can banding lead to more problems....... such as infections, inflammation, trouble swallowing, upsetting the esophagus?
When your platelets hang around 30-40 thousand, isn't this a risk for infections?
If a person has an intestinal infection, could this result in more varices being enlarged?
One last question...... please answer.... it means a lot to me.  Let me tell you a short story that goes with the question. I was hospitalized and the next day I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy.  I was due for these two procedures anyway, and they were looking for why I was having pain.  They found nothing during the colonoscopy, but did band three varices. They wanted to do another endoscopy 4-6 weeks later for a "recheck".  Here is my question:Was the second endoscopy all that necessary? Why didn't they complete the job the first time? Is it a regular routine procedure to do two so soon after the first one.... which wasn't so many ( three varices) after all?  How many is an average ( banding) for this procedure?  Did my sickness( intestional infection) bring on more varices, or did they( dr.) assume there would be more  varices after getting the infection cleared up?
I am concerned about the amount of money, seriousness of doing each procedure.

Thank you for answering each and everyone question.  I hope you can understand me.
