What Suppliments & Foods are BAD for the liver ?

I have heard that TYLENOL is brutal on the liver. A few sources list cinnamon as "not too easy" on the liver. I know the liver works hard and am trying to find a legitimate list of vitamins, suppliments, and foods that should be removed from someones diet if they are living with non-alchoholic fatty liver disease. I would EXPECT to have had a list like this provided by my gastroenterologist, but I only see him every 6 months (insurance limitations) and thought of this AFTER I saw him last.

Any help in finding resources that I can use to compile this list would be greatly appreciated.

If you have fatty liver disease avoid fats. Especially saturated fats. Eat lean meat. If you do ok on a low protien diet eat fish and poultry for protien. Red meat is harder for the liver to process.  Nuts are good protien but hard to digest. Eat lots of veggies and fruits. Fresh or frozen if possible.  Keep your sodium intake down. Avoid sugar it sets in the liver longer. Eat whole wheet or grain bread. Avoid those with processed white flour. It is harder to digest.

I take a Standard process antioxidant for the liver call livaplex. You can find Standard Process on your search engine. My doctor told me to avoid vit. E and vit. K. I don't take any supplements until I run them across my GI's RN. She takes calls and I don't have to pay for a visit.

You may try looking up a diet for fatty liver disease and see what you find.

Good luck.
