jergen's has a tanner and it works well.  i have used it many times before.  it is a gradual tanner...so you can stop at any point.  i would start two days before the wedding...applying only twice.   that way you just "knock off" the white and have a natural look.

self tanning lotions are actually easy to use.  the trick is to make sure you spread it evenly.  do NOT apply directly to the tops of your feet and toes.  instead, when you apply it to your legs...just use your hand to lightly drag it down over the top of your feet.   make sure that you really rub it in good on all places that have dryer skin or creases (knees, ankles, top of your heal area, like where a pair of shoes would hit).

get some now and practice...lol.  it is easy as long as you blend well.

Hi, you definitely need to use some body scrub before you put the self-tanning stuff on.  It gets rid of the rough surface and makes the application more smooth and even.  Trust me, it makes a big difference.

Anyway, I'm a ghost, too and have tried both the spray and creams.  I voted for the spray stuff.  I've used Neutrogena spray.  I loved it and it gave me a pretty bronze color and wasn't orange.  The trick is to rub it in right after you spray it on.  Spray one body area at a time and rub it in immediately.  Like do your lower leg first-rub it in, and then do your thigh and rub it in.  You get the best results doing it that way.

Although I haven't tried it yet, I've heard great things about those tanning wipes.  My mom loves it and I've had people swear by Loreal's Sublime tanning wipes.  If you're very nervous about messing up, this might be your best bet.

Good luck!!!!!!!!!!  =)

I just put it on and then went over it with a dry washcloth to keep the excess off the sheets.  Only a little came off in the shower.  I applied it for about 3 days to get the color I wanted and it lasted about 4 days beyond that.  If needed I could have kept it up by reapplying every 2-3 days.

I got it mail order but it came really fast.  I thought it was worth the effort, which was not really much, and I got a really good result.

I found a great one that is a mousse.  Its called Fake Bake.  It is easy to apply evenly and it gave me a nice tan color - no hint of orange.  I had to go to a wedding in California and I had just done a long course of chemo that made me super sun sensitive. Everybody else was looking tan and healthy and I was fishbelly white and almost completely bald.   I got a great silk scarf for my bald head and some Fake Bake for my legs and it looked great.  Its not cheap, about $15 for a can, but a little goes a long way.

Now that I have Lupus I can't go in the sun.  My husband was moaning that he wants me to have a tan.  I am very white.  I bought some self-tanner lotion and said if he wants me with a tan he can rub it on.  Hasn't happened...  At least we will still look youthful in our old age.

I personally am unable to tan, thanks to my Irish Heritage! The one time I used a fake tan, I looked like a lollipop. Orange skin, with red hair...totally FAKE!
BUT, if I had to, I would go for lotion. I have seen one on the market that has a colour in it that as you put it on you can see where you have been. Can't remember the brand though!

Go to the web and look for comparisons.  Here is a good one http://www.consumersearch.com/sunless-tanning

I also voted neither. Both lotion and spray make you look orange. However, they do sell stuff at drugstores that helps you get a tan. Natural tan looks wayyy better. Good luck and have fun at the wedding!

Voted neither.  I don't use any of them.  I'm pretty naturally tanned anyway from just being in the shade.  My son on the otherhand is light complected.  He used a lotion for a few days.  We had to go to a funeral and when we were all outside, I happened to look up and noticed his eyebrows were orange!  He did not know and was completely unaware of it!  :  D  So be careful not to apply to eyebrows.

I like the lotion the best, you have more control over how you apply it. I have tried the spray on one, and when it darkened, man, was my color uneven, it was awful. LOL.
