Emotional Rollercoaster

My Merina IUD was removed in April this yr. I have a 5 & 10 yr old with amost no complications with eith pregnancy. The 1st @ 15 yrs old she stop growing at the normal rate until I drank boost with every meal & she was fine & a small amount of bleeding with intercourse in the last trimester with the 2nd.
My last menstral period was 10/7 and lasted 2 days. I had a positive pregnancy test on 11/9. Started bleeding red blood late on 11/10. Light bleeding, enough to cover 1/4 of a tampon 2 or 3 times a day. No clotting. Saw my OBGYN on 11/11 for bloodwork. Received results 11/14 of HCG-248 & Progestrone at 2.5. Nurse insisted this must be a miscarriage. Stil lightly bleeding off & on entire weekend but now the blood is brown. Still went in for more bloodwork to have something to compare it to. Those reults were still low but had risen to 562 & 5.4 on 11/15. Nurse is still concerned of miscarriage with #'s so low but calledin Prometrium 200 mg 1x a day. Went in for more blood work but will not have the results until 11/18. As of now the bleeding is very little but red again. What are my odds of having a term pregnancy? Is there anything else I can do to help increase these #'s to normal? Why am I bleeding? Please help! Any info is helpful at this point...

I'm really sorry you're going thru all this.  My understnading is that hcg is supposed to double every 48-72 hours until it gets above 1,000 (or somewhere close to that) and then the doubling time can be 96 hours.  I've been told by my own OB that progesterone should be above 20 but they like it even higher.  As for bleeding, it does happen in pregnancies that turn out healthy, but it also happens with m/c.  I don't think it's ever considered normal in a healthy pregnancy, but it does happen.

My last pregnacy , my hcg doubled with my first and second blood draws, but then didn't double from my 2nd to 3rd.
mine were like this:  10/10: hcg 461, progesterone 5.8
10/13: hcg 1568, progesterone 40 (was on supplemnts)
                                   10/17: hcg 2156, progest. 37.5
so from the 13 th to the 17th it only went up around 600.  I ended up m/c on the 21st.

This was just my experience.  I did read that 1 out of 5 women with slow rising hcg will do fine.  So you do have a chance.  It's always good that it's going up.
There really isn't anything you can do and there isn't anything a doctor can do either.  HCG can't be raised in any way by taking anything. So at this point, all you can do is wait and hope for a good outcome.  the wait is horrible, I know.  I'll be thinking of you and keeping my fingers crossed that it really picks up with your next bloodwork.
