Miscarriage after IVF

I just did IVF egg retreival on 9/27 and egg transfer on 9/30. On 10/10 they did my first blood test. It was negative. On 10/14 I got a positive home pregnancy test. 10/15 it was confirmed by blood test that I am pregnant. I am having a miscarriage. My hcg is very low and I'm having heavy bleeding and cramping. The nurse said I must have implanted late. On 10/10 when I received the negative blood test they told me to stop the progesterone in oil and the estrogen patches I have been on. My question is...can stopping the progesterone and estrogen be the cause of the miscarriage? Especially if I implanted after stopping this?
