Anybody with similar experience with joint and muscle pain???

Hi all,
Sorry for the long absence, I have been very busy getting 3 college kids settled in their new abodes and to say the least it was stressful, both the physical work and the mental stress of a mama bear letting her cubs go. From painting walls and cleaning  stoves until 5 am for a 8 am apartment walk through for damages to packing up my eldest for 4 years to pharmacy school in Buffalo...a long way from home. Had to change her radiator the day of departure so she can make  orientation. Still have the baby..my boy to get settled next week.

Next add a painful case of  hemorrhagic cystitis, a 2nd  round of Tysabri, our dear neighbors announcing that they are moving in 2 weeks to a condo and DH inviting them the same day invite for a farewell dinner( last night). 14 day migraine in progress for which I started the 40 mg  prednisone burst to stop the migraine centered behind my right eye ordered by concerned neuro. PCP ordered Cipro so tendon issues could come into play but this doesn't feel like tendon issues.

Now my question. This morning , after sleeping 15 hours , I wake up to severe muscle aches and joint pain; so is it a relapse, drug reaction, Tysabri reaction or whatever? Anybody come close with the flu -like symptoms or are they a pseudo-relapse from the UTI and stress. Anybody?  Already have plans to call neuro and PCP Monday.

Exhausted Ren

There's some people on this forum with a very funny sense of humor!  I enjoy the way we all interact with one another!

Ren, I do hope this is not another relapse.  Do take some time for rest!  I was the same way, though, when my daughter got married, so I'm not one to talk.

Have you taken your temperature?  Maybe you do actually have a little flu-bug.

Hugs,
Deb

Ms. Ren!

I hope this isn't an allergic reaction - and you and the doc decide what you are going to do to find out.

Hope you feel better soon, Ren.

Rest is good.  May be this is not the same for you. For me lying in bed that long would make me worse. My muscle spasms are worse if I sleep too long. In fact now that I am not riding from the heat I am in way more pain. Stretching for me is so important especially if I over do it.

If I have ticked you off I did not mean it that way and you can slap me. Slap me anyway I can take it.

You have also been under lots of stress. Then you have been sick. It is no wonder you feel so bad. Not to mention the heat. It makes most of us feel so bad.

I was watching "Cowboys and Aliens" thinking MS is like what the aliens do to the humans. I had a migraine, trouble breathing ( I can't use my inhalers because they set off my diaphragm), neck pain, my elbow is acting up, and my gut hurts while watching the movie. I did not want to go but my husband wanted to. I really think someone came up with what MS is when they made that movie.

I sure hope you feel better. I hope this heat lets up and gives all of us a break.

Oh here is a joke. There is a pirate ship and the look out tells the Captain there are three enemy ships. The captain says quick get my red shirt so if I get shot the crew won't see me bleed. Then the look out says no there is a whole fleet of ships. The captain says quick bring my brown pants.

Keep the faith,

Alex

Wow, Ren!  What a week!  I agree with Ess and Lu.

FWIW, Tysabri does give me joint pain, mostly knees and hips.  Ibuprofen helps.

Take good care of yourself, because if you don't, you can't take care of your family either!

I nominate Ess to be the head den mother/butt kicker  for her wise advice.  You are so right that applies to lots of us.

Ren, here's to slowing down and letting your family take on being responsbile for their own needs.  I hope you can rest this week and regroup.

hugs, L

Ren, Ren, Ren--You are another who works herself into the ground. Remember son's graduation party?

You really must just stop. I don't know what is happening to you physically, since you are having quite a lot of complaints, but at least one answer for all of them is to REST. Get carry-out food that your son and husband can pick up. If the house gets crusty, hire a cleaning service, even if it's only one time. So worth it. Plan a time in the day when you can be active, say 9 to noon, and whatever doesn't get done, just doesn't. Then rest all afternoon. Sleep is never overrated.

You are far from an invalid but you aren't Megawoman either, so please, dial it down?? So many people need you and love you, and you need to love you too.

This public service announcement :-)  applies lots of folks here!

I also hope its not a relapse.  It does sound more like stress and really over-doing it.  We had a very busy weekend last week and add on that you helped clean your daughter's apartment and all the moving/entertaining/infection going on, no wonder you are a wreck.

Please, please, please take this week off from anything that is not absoutely necessary.  Just say "no"!  Your body is telling you that it needs a break and listen to it girl.

As far as the muscle and joint pain, that is also your body telling you you did too much last week.  Our muscles have to work extra hard just to do the things we need to do like standing, walking, etc.  Yours worked even harder with all the extra stuff they had to do.  It might take a few days or week but you'll feel better if you get enough rest.  Give me a call when you have time and we can chat. I'll be home most of this week recovering from the surgeries.

Love ya.

Ugg! I hope that it isn't a relapse and if it is, I hope that you bounce back soon.

I have chronic joint and muscle pain on my left sign, at least since it has been hot. Nothing really seems to relieve it, unfortunately. I try to stay busy to take my mind off of it when it isn't too bad.

Hi sweetie,
So sorry that you are going through all of this.  I would say it is a relapse too, it ***** for you, and you  have been through alot with the kdis.  It is so hard to let them go, and grow, and feel your heart breaking, and bursting with pride at the same time.  I know, I have been there.

The relapse hopefully won't last to long, but I am having similiar things going on with me, and they just say continue with the meds, and rest alot, and take it easy.

That is what I was told,

Hopeing this finds you less tired,
love and hugs to you,
my friend,
Candy
