Apology for my absence.

I am still alive and kicking but but not very well. I went back to my doc for yet another antibiotic for my pneumonia and now UTI. This is getting old VERY fast. What I wanted to ask is a favor from those of you so inclined.

The doc said no flying on a plane unless I get more strength back and the fever from over a month goes away. My daughter, who is in Pharmacy School, has her White Coat Ceremony in NY and we live  in GA. There is no way I 'm missing my baby girl getting her white coat. So, If you have a magic wand, positive vibes or whatever, please send them to me and my daughter so we can share this occasion as a family.

Thank you,
Ren

Thanks to all of you!!!!! A change to Augmentin ER in a hefty dose seems to be doing the trick. I'm feeling better except for coughing fits when I lay down, hence my writing this late but didn't want to wake DH up.

I appreciate all the good thoughts, vibes and suggestions to get me through this. I do feel better than earlier this week.  I've got Mary Tyler Moore's theme song playing in my mind "you're going to make it after all".

Warmly ,
Ren

I'm waving mine all the way across the E Coast woman!!!!!

Get better, girl! And, I'd not miss it either - besides, it's a short trip!

Hugs and prayers coming your way,

(((Ren))),

I had no idea all this awfulness was going on with you.

Wishing you a wonderful time seeing your daughter achieve such a milestone.  Just be sure to take it easy and not over do it. (Sounds like you have a good plan in place.)

I miss talking to you and am glad to "hear" your voice...

Thinking of you my friend,
XO  Michelle

I am so sorry to hear that you have been struggling with ongoing serious illness and can understand that you do not want to missbeing with your daughter on her special day Sometimes we have to go with our gut feeling, take a risk and just enjoy life even when under the weather. I am sure you will be there to celebrate and just rest when you can and take as much care of yourself as possible.

Sending you hugs, and wishing you improved health.

Love Sarah x

No need for an apology, just hope you get better really soon.

Going through a UTI myself, and it makes you feel so ill.

Went to my Neuro today, and I refused to have the air/con in the taxi ambulance because of the germs - so yes I agree with everyone, where a mask also on the plane.

Get well soon, and have a good time at your daughters ceremony.

I hope you get to see your daughter's White Coat Ceremony.  I'll be sending positive vibes your way.
Please take care of yourself and be well.  It's another reminder that besides the MS, we still are affected by other illnesses as well.

Hugs,
Kelly

No need to offer an apology although you have been missed.  My only concern about flying is the doctor may have more than one reason as to why you shouldn't.  I would approach him about the mask idea and hear his response.

If not hit the road via a rented van where you can spread out for naps.  A trip that long would be miserable in one position.  Talk about spasms!!!!!

Be proud of your daughter!!!!  How wonderful for her at such a young age to complete a very hard course of work!

The White Coat Ceremony is when they have become Pharmacy Interns and then venture out into the real world for 2 weeks to various types of pharmacies,i.e. "mom and Pop" shops , to retail to hospital to research.

This symbolizes what the "first stripe on your nursing cap" back in the olden days.

Dad and I have worked out a plan with me resting a great deal of the time at the hotel so we can enjoy this milestone with our daughter.  tToo bad the invitation is for  2 guests only or we would take the entire family
.with us.

Again thank you the positive vibes , it reassures me that I am doing the right thing, despite doc's advice. I have NEVER ignored a doc's order so blatantly, but it is an important day for her and MD has causeed me to miss other mommentsw with my kids as DH has filled in. STill the looks on my kids' faces when they received unexpected scholarships and awards are captured only with a still life snapshot.

OK , done with my sob story :) I'll post pics when we return.

I already talked one person out of doing something she really wanted to do today by convincing her she had to start putting herself and her health in the first priority column.

I guess I can't do better here than offer those positive vibes you want to help in your safe passage to NY and back home.

What part of degree completion does this ceremony celebrate Ren?  Congrats to the student AND her proud Mom.!

My very appreciate thanks to all the posts for good vibes, prayers and the good old college try then collapse.

I did ask and was given masks from my PCP today so that's covered. Just need to replenish my purse size sanitizers.

Ok, bedtime although I just got up from a 5 hour nap.

Thanks again!!!

awww Ren, I pray whole heartedly for you and your health. I hope you are better very soon.....I can only imagine what you are going through, yet I can somewhat relate. I miss and have missed so much of my kids in Football, Cheerleading, Baseball and Soccer. I've missed wanting to just read them a book because I am just too exhausted not just from work but also, My sickness. I wish I was inclined to tell you medically the correct thing to do for the better of you. I'm not. I will tell you, I wouldn't miss that for the world. I'd have to take that chance to be there to watch her get her White Coat that she deserves, after all of your hard work and hers to get there. Trust me, she wants and needs you there as bad and as much as you want to be there. Just do your best to relax, do what the Dr tells you to do, Get as well as you can, do what it takes to get your strength back.....and be there for your daughter. Ask in Prayer. Our Heavenly Father hears and answers. He may not always be on our time, but he's always on time. Miracles happen and with Faith.....it will happen. Good Luck, Bess Wishes and Most Importantly, God Bless you. Give it to him and it will all fall into place. Lots of Love from a Mom in Louisiana.

If you can't do the mask/gloves/sanitizer routine, then get in the car and let hubby start driving.  It's a ceremony you know that you don't want to miss.

Knowing you, you can make this happen.

hugs, L

HI, Ren. So sorry your still battling all this crap.

I was just about to suggest what Lisa has posted. Wear surgical masks, especially on the plane, with all that recycled germy air, and use lots of hand sanitizer, etc. Go if you possibly can.

Hugs,
ess

It has been a very long few weeks with you Ren.  I swear that first day I heard you I was going to book a flight to come care for you.  It's amazing you're in an upright position.

I told you you should have went into the hospital for IV antibiotics....I guess a second antibx will have to do...

You know my thoughts on your traveling to NY to see your daughter's White Coat ceremony.  Bring a box of surgical masks, hand sanitizer and I think you're good to go.  I'd tell the airport you need wheelchair assistance so you're not overdoing yourself.

If its not one thing it's another.

There's nothing to forgive when you're this sick.  Anyone giving you a hard time can go phuck themselves.  (smiles).

Luv ya

Lisa
