Long awaited appt with MS Specialist

So........ met with my new MS Doctor.  As much as I like my original neuro - I like him even more.  Very through and personable -  took the time to listen and answer questions.  He is at Hopkins and unlike most Doctors, he actually met me in the lobby!  Was impressed from that point.  We are continuing on the current course, Baclofen, Avonex and Ampyra but he is doing more tests, he feels my Vit D and B-12 are low and he wants to do more comprehensive blood work to check these out.  He thinks they could be contributing to my sx's.  So we shall see how that goes, naturally I have to go to a different lab for this work but I cannot bash my insurance co too much - they did pay for my Bioness!!!

To all

This has probably been one of the better weeks  I had since my dx in December.  between Bioness and finding a neuro who doesn't stop with the dx but looks for ways to make my life better.

Now for the not so great part -  I see my parents for the first time since my dx and they have already started with the -  sell the house move with us in NC .  I am hoping that when they see me and see how well I am doing they stop that.  Right now I am good, possibly even great.  There may come a time when I have to do that but now isn't that time!  Think of me on Friday when I am seeing them!  And it is good to write some positive stuff!  Gives me some hope!

Does kind of sound like a blind date.  How did he pick you out of the lobby crowd?

Attractive is great if he came with flowers!

I love a man who doesn't throw up his hands in helplessness and pronounce, "Well, you have MS so you should expect this kind of thing."  I hope he finds some B12 and D supplementation will help quiet some of your goblins.

TFS your progress.  I just love it when people get to leave multiple good news reports in a single week.

sounds like a good start, and Jane - you need to check out Rena's hottie if that is the credential for a good neuro.  LOL
