I can relate to the whole spelling thing - you know I find I sometimes forget how to spell such simple words as "that" -

um dont hate me (well not yet anyway lol) but spelling, grammar etc are just a few more puzzle pieces missing from my little bag of tricks, the bag is getting pretty full so i'm pretty happy if I can string a coherant sentence together lol
Kid you not but whilst writing Christmas gift tags, I had to ask my husband of almost 20 years, how to spell his name, oh so pathetic but the look on his face was halarious (sp) rofl

Welcome to the club - sorry you've become a member. As for the hilarity - you might as well laugh because otherwise you will have to cry. And tears will do no good. But don't be surprised if the blues show up soon. It is quite the roller coaster ride for our emotions.
